Nova—Intake Photos

The following photos were taken October 12, 2020 one day after Nova arrived at my place.

Chest from the front: Each of her pectoral muscles look about the same size as the other. Her front legs are straight and hooves are healthy. Her right front shoulder muscles look larger than those on the left, but I will observe this again to be sure.

Top of rump and shoulders: The muscling in her hind quarters looks balanced on the top and on both sides. Her withers also look fairly balanced, and I will look again to verify what I am seeing.

Head and eyes: Nova's ears are easily touchable. Her temporal muscles are firm and prominent and her eyes are balanced horizontally and bright generally. I haven't noticed more flaring of her left nostril, and will keep an eye on it.

Topline: Again we see the muscling on each side of her sacrum and her shoulders is balanced from side to side. Her spinal column is straight with no unusual displacement of any vertebrae and her barrel is equally well sprung on each side.

Right and left sides
: Nova's default is to stand with her poll above her withers, and when I offer her the Chin Rest exercise with poll massaging she releases her poll, lowers her head, shakes her neck and processes for a few minutes. She rarely defaults to standing squarely, with a preference to leaving her right hind leg behind her.

She looks "downhill." Her under and upper-neck muscles are enlarged leaving her mid-neck more hollow.
